A couple months ago, I com­pleted a logo for a new com­pany called Daily Grommet. They’re an inter­esting com­pany, in that it’s a bit of a new way of get­ting the word out about inter­esting prod­ucts. They fea­ture one item a day with a video and some per­sonal com­men­tary. Though I don’t quite fall into their demo­graphic — hip moms — they still fea­ture some quite nice things. Definitely a good place to check out if you’re looking for gift ideas.

We decided to design the busi­ness cards as the cen­ter­piece of system, so I pulled out the stopps. It’s a let­ter­press on one side, with a custom pat­tern that I designed. The infor­ma­tion is applied by way of a printed sticker.

During the logo process, we devel­oped a handful of direc­tions. The winner is up top, but check out a few alter­nates below, of which I have a par­tic­ular fond­ness for the kan­garoo. I’ll freely admit that the cal­endar idea isn’t the most orig­inal, but some­times people just want lit­eral, and with new clients it’s a bit of a “feeling out” process.
